Heavy Tank is a very rare Vehicle tied to a high-tier unlockable Skill. It comes equipped with a Cannon v.2 and a Fixed Machine Gun v2, which are better than the ones installed on Light Tanks by a notch. The vehicle is as tough as 50 Life Points, and is shielded with 3 Armor. On average, the vehicle can hold for three hits with explosives.
Heavy tanks are available from level 7, but deploying one costs 6 Deployment points, which requires at least 2 Scouts to be recruited to field a vehicle alone. By comparison, 3 Light Tanks can be deployed instead, or just 2 without reinforcement boosts. Albeit formidable, heavy tanks' potential and cost can be compensated by multitude of other vehicles, but only deployed at the same time. On top of that, one should not forget the fact that most vehicles are hard to come by, let alone be deployed, thus discarding such possibility (especially with pilots at hand) doesn't seem like the best choice, even if the vehicle is used rarely.
To use the vehicle more often, one can specialize and level up Pilots, improving the chance of deployment by 25% every new level. Testing is ready to be started (need tank owners) to determine chances of deployment. See Talk Page.
It is assumed that the heavy tank operates in a way that is similar to other combat vehicles. As some trooper skills are useful to other vehicles we can assume they will also be useful to a heavy tank. See Vehicles and skills.
Deployment
The only video showing a Heavy Tank in combat.
The image to the right was taken from the previous video. Notice that the heavy tank seems to be using 6 Deployment Points to enter the field. The army in this image is using all 8 of its Deployment Points, but it does not deploy any troops.
8 Deployment Points - 2 the Light Tank = 6 the Heavy Tank.
An army without at least two Scouts cannot deploy a heavy tank. Even then the enemy could reduce the deployment bonus by sending out Spies (or using Reverse Attack).
Trivia
- It's not the only early XX century materiel seen in the game, which could probably mean than one of initial concepts was placed in a corresponding era hence some of the stylistic elements, but then revoked in favour of Modern one, giving a strange feeling visual mix.
